Kingston to party with a purpose

Mardi Gras is just around the corner, so this is the time for Kingston revelers to mark their Calendars to remember to attend Mardi Gras Party With a Purpose.

The event will be presented by the Rotary Club of Wilkes-Barr and will support the Kids of the Wyoming Valley Children’s Association in Forty Fort. This may be especially appealing to those of us here in Kingston who belong to our local chapter of the Rotary.

The evening will be full of entertainment, basket raffles, and a beverage tasting. There will be a 50/50 raffle. The dinner will include mesquite roasted chicken, shrimp and rice, and Cajun pasta.

The Children’s Association provides early childhood education including therapy and any other needed services. These services are not only offered to the children, but extend to their families as well. The association has a school environment that offers preschool programs that nurture each child, provide education, and offer suitable therapies.

Those interested in this event may want to pass out some Flyers or get the information to their favorite organization before its next newsletter printing.

The gala will be on February 4, from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm, at Genetti’s Best Western, 77 East Market Street, in downtown Wilkes-Barr. Advanced tickets for the event will be $20. If purchased at the door, the tickets will cost $25.
