Kingston runs for kids

Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Bridge will be presenting its annual Run/Walk for Kids’ Sake, a 5K and fun walk, in a few weeks.

Kids will have their own half mile Kids' Fun Run. All proceeds will go directly to our local Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Bridge organization.

All participants will receive T-shirts sporting the event graphic design. Preregistration will be $20 for the 5K, $25 on race day, and $10 for kids 12 and under. The Kids' 1/2 Mile will be free. The 5K run/walk will be timed.

Gift cards worth $50 will be awarded to the first overall female and male finishers. The first three male and the first three female finishers in each of the seven age groups will also receive awards.

Both participants and spectators can enter the basket raffles. Many spectators might be getting some banner printing done so they will have a way to support their favorite racers.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Bridge strives to make a difference one child at a time, and over 250 families in the area are currently being served.

The Run/Walk for Kids’ Sake event will take place at the Martz Pavilion in Kirby Park, 160 Market Street, rain or shine this Saturday, July 21. The race will kick off at 9:00 am and check-in will begin at 8:00 am. The kids’ event will start at 8:30 am.
