Kingston off to the circus

The 70th Irem Shrine Circus is coming to Kingston at the end of April.

The event will include elephant and other animal rides. The Carden Asian elephants and Royal Bengal tigers will have their own acts in the ring. There will be a laser light show, and Duo Leyva will present a bow and arrow act. The De Valeiro Troupe will sky walk and form human pyramids on the high wire, and from the Republic of China the Jian Jun Li Troupe will perform daring juggling feats. Barnyard Menagerie will have barnyard animals go through fast moving paces.

Novelties and souvenirs will be available for purchase. Concessions will be popcorn, soda, cotton candy, nacho chips with cheese, snow cones, hot dogs, candy apples, and peanuts.

The organizers are busily getting the circus brochure printing done in order to be ready for the big day. The $2 circus Brochures include chances to win bicycles, $25 Visa gift cards, and coupons for Burger King.

Tickets run from $8 to $18 and can be purchased at the circus’ box office at 22 East Union Street, and at the 109th Armory as of tomorrow, April 15.

The circus will be coming to the Kingston Armory, 280 Market Street on Monday, April 22, running until April 27. The shows run about two hours with 15 minute intermissions, and times vary, with the schedule available on the website.
