People from Kingston and nearby are being urged to attend the Fine Arts Fiesta coming up in a couple of weeks.
This will mark the 61st year for the four-day event, which, as in the past, will be a community gathering to celebrate talent, diversity, friendship, and passion.
Both student and adult art exhibitions will be juried, and an artists’ market will have many unique and authentic pieces for sale. There will be live performances, and food vendors will be offering a wide selection of ethnic foods. Performers will be strolling through the crowd and will include Mother Goose, a mime, Flossie the Fiesta Clown, an accordion player, and Shakespeare reading his own work.
The children’s tent will have performing puppets presented by Tuckers’ Tales Puppet Theatre, a make and-take center where children can make their own puppets, and storytelling by the local library. The make-and-take area will also be featuring paper cutting and bracelets making.
Photo boards will be located around the venue for guests to have their photographs taken. This event is a ‘BYOC’, so everyone will want to remember to bring their cameras. These pictures can be used for later poster printing or maybe even Stationery printing.
This year’s fiesta will be May 19 through May 22 in downtown Wilkes-Barre, on the Public Square. The event will open at 11:00 am daily
