Kingston holidays to include partying and giving

Around the holidays, many area events focus on partying or charity work and Kingston will be no exception.

The partying will come courtesy of a Santa Fest. Guests may look forward to pictures with Santa, decorating gingerbread men cookies, a make-your-own hot cocoa bar, Christmas-themed movies, and an ugly sweater contest. Prizes will be awarded the ugliest sweater for both adults and children. A buffet lunch will be served, and the air will be filled with Christmas music.

A Toys for Tots drop-off bin will be available for donations. A $5 coupons to be used for future visits will be issued to anyone who makes a donation.

Craft vendors will be selling handmade items that may finish everyone’s Christmas lists. Crafters at events such as this often slip Business Cards in with purchases.

Santa Fest will be this Saturday, December 17 from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm at Benny Brewing Co., 1429 San Souci Parkway, Wilkes-Barre.

United NEPA Alliance will hold its “Spreading Yuletide Cheer” in Coal Street Park 125-199 N Wilkes-Barre Boulevard, Wilkes-Barre. The community is asked to bring new or gently used winter coats and toys for needy families. The organizers are also collecting box or canned food, turkeys, and gift cards.

Spreading Yuletide Cheer will take place from noon to 3:00 pm Sunday, December 18.
