Kingston runners and those wishing to get outside and contribute to local charities will have a pair of 5k options during August.
On Sunday, August 6, the 13th Annual Paul Friedman 5k Family Walk/Run will take place at Sidney and Pauline Friedman JCC, 613 S.J. Straus Lane. The race will start at 9:00 am.
Registration is $25 for adults, $20 for students and $10 for kids younger than 10 years old. Adult registration will go up to $30 on race day. Race packets will be available from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm at Valley Running Company, 900 Rutter Avenue, Forty Fort. Race day registration will be from 8:00 am to 8:45 am.
Awards will go to the best overall times in eight divisions, and to the first place over all female and male runners and walkers.
The following weekend, the 5k Color Fun Walk/Run “Fun” Raiser will take place Saturday, August 12, from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm at Nesbitt Park, 183 Market Street. Proceeds will go to the Street Art Society of NEPA to help defray the costs of future murals.
Registration for Kingston participants from ages one to twelve will be $20, and fees for older runners or walkers will be $30.
Those participants who register before next Friday, July 21, will be guaranteed racing T-shirts sporting this year’s graphic design.
