Kingston families enjoy county fair

Kingston families are gearing up to attend this year’s Lucerne County Fair coming in early September.

Poultry judging will start things off Wednesday afternoon on Opening Day. There will be plenty of arts and crafts and at 5:30 pm there will be a K-9’s in Flight Show. The midway opens at 6:00 pm. Evening activities will include the Wolves of the World Show, rabbit judging and a circus.

Thursday will be Senior Citizen’s Day and there will be more arts and crafts, K-9, circus and wolves shows and 4-H judging.

Families of the winners of the judging contests usually take pictures and have duplicates made at local Print shops.

Food Drive Day will be Friday. Attendees can get $2.00 off the $10.00 admission fee when they donate a food item for the local food pantry. Along with the aforementioned shows and activities, this day will feature Bull and Barrels at 6:00 pm, and Jacked Up Country on the Main Stage.

Saturday will be First Responders Appreciation Day, and veterans, active duty military and first responders can get $2.00 off admission. Along with the other fair activities and shows will be the Fair Princess Contest, Antique Tractor Parade and a Meatloaf tribute band.

Sunday will wrap things up with a kiddie tractor pull, horseshoe pitching, tractor obstacle rodeo and Billy Joel tribute band.

Luzerne County Fair will be September 4th through the 8th at the Luzerne County Fair Grounds, 3605 State Route 118, Dallas.
