Fine Arts Fiesta, the oldest arts festival in the state, will be once again celebrating the area’s diverse visual and performing arts in a few days.
The four-day festival will encompass dance, drama, music, art displays, and sketches. Both adults and students will have juried art shows, and local schools and professional music artists will be giving performances. Over 30 performers, bands and acts will be on the Main Stage. Middle school and high school choruses, orchestras, glee clubs, and dance companies are scheduled to appear.
The Poetry Society, the Keystone Kids, Innovative juggler Greg Kennedy, and the Little Theatre of Wilkes-Barre will also be onstage. Some performers will be strolling through the crowd entertaining and meeting the public.
Guests can meander through the artist market. Over 50 artists will be selling jewelry, homemade brooms, oil painting, photographs, wood, etchings, stained glass, silhouettes, and Sci-Fi Art. Many attendees will be collecting artists’ Business Cards so they can contact them for purchasing pieces in the future.
Many ethnic foods will be available for purchase. Ten or more food vendors will be selling everything from gyros (Greek kebabs), potato pancakes, pita sandwiches, and pizza, to kettle corn, cocoa, and ice cream.
Kingston children will have the opportunity to make bookmarks and puppets, and view puppet shows in the Kids’ Tent.
The 2018 Fine Arts Fiesta will be from May 17 through 20 in the Public Square in Downtown Wilkes-Barre.
