The Kingston area will be celebrating the holiday season with the Wilkes-Barre parade and tree lighting, holiday performance, small business shopping event, and wreath workshop.
The season will begin with Wilkes-Barre City’s annual Christmas Parade and Tree Lighting Ceremony this Saturday, November 20. The parade will step off at 3:00 pm on South Main, march around Wilkes-Barre’s Public Square, go past the reviewing stand and F.M. Kirby Center, before ending at North Main. The Tree Lighting Ceremony will take place in the Square right after the parade.
PNC Pops Holiday Performances will present its annual Holiday Concert featuring Northeastern Pennsylvania Philharmonic, Choral Society of Northeastern PA, Ballet Theater of Scranton, and University Concert Choir Bloomsburg in an evening of traditional and modern holiday music. Pops Holiday Performance will be at F.M. Kirby Center, 71 Public Square, Wilkes-Barre on Friday, December 10 and Saturday, December 11, beginning at 7:00 pm.
On December 11 and 12, Craftopia’s Holiday Festival will offer Kingston shoppers the opportunity to purchase holiday gifts from local small businesses. The festival will be at Holiday Inn Wilkes-Barre- East Mountain from noon until 6:00 pm.
Shoppers often collect Business Cards from vendors at events such as this. They can then contact them again afterwards for more items or custom-made designs.
For those wishing to make their own Christmas wreaths, Dundee Gardens at 2407 San Souci Parkway, will hold a workshop on Saturday, December 11 from 1:00 pm until 2:30 pm. Tickets will be $65.
