The Kingston community is invited to attend the second annual Light Up the Valley, which will take place in mid-June, along with Thursday night Sunsets on SOMA.
At the former event, more than 500 guests are expected to turn out to honor 40 outstanding Wyoming Valley changemakers who have made advances in equity, diversity, volunteerism, inclusion, and innovation in our region.
This year’s event will have a light display that will illuminate the Wilkes-Barre Public Square, live music, activities, and vendors. Occasionally, a vendor at an event such as this may have local business Logo Design on their paper products.
Attendees are encouraged to be ready to dance and bring lawn chairs. The event will be free on Thursday, June 13 from 7:00pm to 9:30pm.
Towns such as Wilkes-Barre like to have pictures taken during community events like this. They usually take the pictures to local Print shops to be added to tourist guides and town newsletters.
Meanwhile, Sunsets on South Main will take place from 5:30pm to 7:30pm every third Thursday of the summer and early fall months. This too will be a free outside celebration with cornhole, live music, and beverages for purchase. Music will be provided by The Music Room on June 20, Room 206 on July 18, an as yet undisclosed musical act on August 15, and Joe Burke & Co on September 19.
Sunsets on South Main will take place at Midtown Village, 41 South Main Street, Wilkes-Barre.
