Kingston area heads for the links

Three charity golf tournaments are scheduled over the next few Mondays.

The Wilkes-Barre Family YMCA’s annual John A. McCole & Connie Umphred Charity Golf Tournament is coming first. The tournament will be on July 22 at the Fox Hill Country Club, 454 Tunkhyannock Avenue, Exeter. The event will have a $175 admission fee and an 11:00 am shot-gun start. All proceeds will go to sending local children to summer camp.

The 5th Annual Owen J. Costello Memorial Golf Tournament is coming to Wyoming Valley Country Club, 1695 S. Main Street, Wilkes-Barre, on July 29. This will be captain and crew format. Registration will begin at noon when refreshments and a light lunch will be served. There will be a shotgun start at 1:00 pm followed by a dinner and awards ceremony. This year’s contributions will go to supporting the Keystone State Games amateur athletes, WBASD student scholarships and to creating a Owen J. Costello memorial at the Coal Street Complex. Registration will be $100 per individual and $400 for foursomes.

The 2019 Chamber Annual Golf Tournament will take place August 5, also at the Wyoming Valley Country Club. Registration will be from 10:00 am until 11:00 am. A shotgun start will be at 11:00 am, and lunch will be provided. After the golfing, there will be an outdoor/indoor cocktail hour featuring food stations.
