Kingston area has Bohemian Winter

The Northeastern Pennsylvania Chamber Music Society will present its annual NEPACMS Benefit Concert in January. This year’s event is titled, “Bohemian Winter.”

The evening’s performance will begin with “Gypsy” the Piano Trio in G major, Hob.XV:25 by Franz Joseph Haydn. That will be followed by “Café Music” by Paul Schoenfield, and “Dumky” Piano Trio No. 4 by Antonin Dvorak. The highlight of the evening will be a premiere performance of “Phoenix Quartet”, a piece for cello, viola, violin and clarinet composed by Jonathan Pineno, a Penn State Wilkes-Barre music professor.

Performers for the evening will be Jonathan Pineno - clarinet, Theodore Buchholz – cello, Amy Iwazumi – viola, John Michael Vaida – violin and Timothy Burns – piano. Following the performance, a reception will be held for guests to meet the performers.

The concert will benefit the Northeastern Pennsylvania Chamber Music Society’s mission, which is to bring chamber music to Northeastern Pennsylvania and introduce the musical arts to schools and the local area.

Tickets will be $20 each and can only be purchased online.

Sponsorships are available at $500, $1,000, $1,500 and $3,000 levels. Each sponsor needs to get their Logo Design to the organizers as soon as possible before the program brochure printing.

A Bohemian Winter will take place at Penn State Wilkes-Barre Hayfield House, 44 University Drive, on January 10 beginning at 7:00 pm.
