Kingston area enjoys fine arts festival

The 68th Annual Fine Arts Fiesta will once again be coming to Wilkes-Barre Public Square in mid-May, with more than 50,000 people expected to attend during the four-day event.

The festival will hold two visual art showcases including all media and photography, which will be juried and will be open to both adults and student artwork. Cash prizes will be awarded in Best of Show in crafts and fine arts.

There will be ethnic food for purchase and live performances by local and international performing arts groups and organizations, dancers, theater artists, and poets on the main stage. Professional artisans and craftspeople will be displaying and selling their original creations and holding demonstrations in the Artist Market.

Kids can enjoy free puppet shows, clowns, music, face painting, and storytelling with Mother Goose. Programs and items sporting this year event's graphic design will be available for purchases in the Souvenir Tent.

The festival will be needing Kingston volunteers as announcers, guest services, assistants for the Artists Market, cleanup, hosts in the Exhibition tent, helping with the juried art, staffing the souvenir tent, and helping with table maintenance. Anyone interested may apply online.

The Fiesta will be held from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm on May 16th, 17th and 18th, and 10:00 am to 5:00 pm on May 19th. Admission will be free.
