Holiday season brings music for Kingston

The Kingston area will be treated to plenty of music during the holiday season, with performances by choirs, dance teams, and even an orchestra.

The Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra will be presenting its annual PNC Pops: To the North Pole. This will be a musical journey to the North Pole through dance from the Ballet Theatre of Scranton, and music provided by the Bloomsburg University Concert Choir and the Choral Society of Northeastern PA, and the orchestra.

The program will include holiday favorites done in orchestral arrangements, as well as dance and song. The evening will end with an audience sing-along.

PNC Pops: To the North Pole will take place at the F.M. Kirby Center for the Performing Arts, 71 Public Square in Wilkes-Barre on Saturday, December 2nd beginning at 7:00pm.

For an evening of Christmas merriment, music and polka, Jimmy Sturr and his Orchestra will be presenting Jimmy Sturr’s Spirit of Christmas Show Polka Dance. Legendary polka musicians Jimmy Sturr and Joe Stanky will be performing, along with the Christmas choir and dancers.

This Christmas show will be on Saturday, December 9th from 2:00pm to 6:00pm at Genetti’s Ballroom 77 E. Market Street Wilkes Barre.

Meanwhile, everyone is invited to bring their own scores and be part of the Annual Messiah Sing-Along. This event will take place on Sunday, December 17th at Saint Stephen’s Episcopal Pro-Cathedral, 35 S. Franklin Street, beginning at 3:00pm.

Organizations producing Christmas performances like these often take gaily decorated programs to local Print shops for duplication.
