NEPA Chapter of Women in Aviation International will be holding its second Girls in Aviation Day Northeastern Pennsylvania Association in late September. The event will be a day camp geared for girls between the ages of 8 to 17, and will be part of the nationwide WAI network’s eighth annual Girls in Aviation Day.
The aim of the event is to present young girls from local areas like Kingston with a wealth of aviation possibilities. Girls can expect static aircraft displays, kids’ seminars, and STEM activities – all focused on simply having fun.
Registration is $23 and includes Backpacks and T-shirts featuring this year’s Logo Design.
Registration will begin at 10:00 am with the first activity session at 10:35 am. At 11:10 am Activity Session 1 will end, and Activity Session 2 will begin. Lunch will be served from 11:45 am to 12:20 pm. Activity Session 3 will be from 12:20 pm to 12:55 pm, followed by Activity Session 4 from 12:55 pm to 1:30 pm.
A celebration and photo will take place from 1:30 pm to 2:00 pm. Parents are invited to attend the celebration and view the hangar.
Girls need to be dressed according to the weather as most activities will take place outdoors.
The day is scheduled for Saturday, September 24th from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at Wilkes-Barre Wyoming Valley Airport, 2001 Wyoming Avenue.
