The Luzerne County Historical Society has once again announced that its Annual Downtown Wilkes-Barre Ghost Walks are to take place on two days toward the end of October.
This will be a walking tour discussing murders, ghosts, and graveyards from the mid-1700s to the end of the 1900s in Wilkes-Barre‘s downtown district. Some stops will include River Street, the site where the Sterling Hotel used to be and the place of Wilkes-Barre’s first ever known execution.
Tours lasting two hours will begin every 15 minutes outside of St. Stephen’s Church, 49 S Franklin Street. The six tours on October 20th and five on the 21st will begin at 6:15 pm. Tickets are $10 and must be purchased beforehand at the Downtown Wilkes-Barre Ghost Walks website.
Little Kingston ghosts and goblins may instead opt to attend something a little less spooky such as the KBS Kids 2nd annual October Fest Trunk or Treat. Tickets are free, but those trick-or-treating must have them. Entry will be every half-hour beginning at 3:00pm and 3:30pm for sensory admission, and three more time slots for general admission.
Pictures taken of children during a trunk or treat like this often make good pictures to take to nearby Stationery printers to be made into Halloween notecard sets.
