Performance fans in Kingston can enjoy a well-known musical called ‘Into the Woods’ later this month. The Music Box Players, a non-profit organization, will be putting on the show.
The production centers around a baker and his wife who are on a mission to break a spell. Along the way, they come in contact with familiar fairy tale characters, such as Cinderella and Little Red Riding Hood.
Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine created the original masterpiece, but Lori Colacito will direct this particular performance, while Kim Crofchick is in charge of musical direction.
Tickets cost $16 for the musical. For dinner and a show, adults pay $34 and children aged 12 and under pay $28. Group rates are also available.
The musical will be performed at the Music Dinner Box Playhouse. For the evening performances, the doors will open at 6:00 pm with dinner following at 6:30 pm. The play will begin at 8:00 pm. For the afternoon showings, doors open at 1:00 pm with food being served at 1:30 pm. The curtain is at 3:00 pm.
Performances will take place on July 19 and 20, July 25 through 27, and August 1 and 2. It is likely local Stationery printers have been asked to make a playbill for the performances. Typically, a playbill features the cast, scenes, photos, and names of people involved with the play production.
