College campus all aglow

This spring, Wilkes University, just minutes away from Kingston, will host a race that will light up the night for a good cause.

The ‘Just Glow with It 5K’ gives participants the option to run competitively, non-competitively, or simply walk the course.

During the 5K there will be optional glow areas where participants can choose to be sprayed with washable glow paint. There will also be places where individuals can purchase other glow-in-the-dark items.

The race will begin at the University and then wind its way around a few local streets. Its proceeds will go to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.

Flyer printing is an inexpensive way to spread the word about an event. In addition, using bright colors is a useful tactic for getting people to notice a flyer.

Online registration costs $5 for students and $10 for non-students. Those who register before April 3 will be guaranteed a T-shirt with the race’s logo on it. Volunteers are also needed for the paint stations and to help along the course.

Runners can take their mark on April 17 at 9:30 pm. Race-night registration starts at 8:00 pm inside of The University Center. In the event of rain, the race will be moved to April 23.

The Wilkes’ University Center is located on 169 South Main Street. For more information, call Nicole Clemson at 570-408-4352.
