Many Kingston revelers, especially those of an Irish heritage, will be headed to the St. Patrick's Day Parade coming to Wilkes-Barre in mid-March.
More than 2,000 participants and over 100 groups – including non-profit organizations, local leaders such as Mayor George C. Brown, businesses, emergency response units, and pageant title holders – are expected to take part in this 44th St. Patrick's Day event.
Shamrock ($500), Leprechaun ($1,000), Pot of Gold ($2,000), and Balloon ($3,500) sponsorships levels are still available. Banner printing including each sponsor's Logo Design will be done for each sponsor – for example, the Pot of Gold sponsor's Logo Design will go on the banner leading the sponsored band, and the banner leading each giant parade balloon will display the Balloon sponsor's Logo Design.
Parade units and other participants such as bands, animals, floats, and vehicles will line up at the intersection of South Street and South Main Street between 1:00 pm and 2:00 pm. The parade will step off at 2:00 pm. It will march up South Main Street, go around the public square toward East Market before proceeding on to North Main and ending at the intersection of Union and North Main. The reviewing stand will be on the northeast side of the public square between North Main and East Market Streets.
This year's St. Patrick's Day Parade will be Sunday, March 10.
