Time again for Cranberry Turkey Chase

Charity races continue to be a Thanksgiving tradition in Cranberry Township, where the 3rd Annual Cranberry Turkey Chase will take place next week.

This year’s race takes place at Graham Park, with the 5K event starting at 9:00 am and the one-mile run/walk taking off soon after. The 5K will have age group awards, and the runners will be chip timed, while the one-mile participants will receive medals.

Event T-Shirts will be given to those who pre-register and, for as long as they last, provided to race day signups as well. Registration for the 5K and the 1 mile is $25 and $15 respectively in advance and $30 and $20 the day of the race. Runners can pick up their packets on Wednesday, November 26 at Mojo Running and Multisport from noon to 8:00 pm.

Those who wish to register the day of the race can do so at 7:30 am. However, procrastinators should be aware that this year, the race will be limited to 1,000 runners. Promoting an event such as this one is usually best accomplished with the help of a poster printing service. This year’s promotions appear to have been successful; according to the event’s Facebook page as of November 15, there were already 500 runners registered.

Taking place on Thursday, November 27, this year’s proceeds will benefit the Miracle League of Western PA and the Seneca Valley Cross Country.
