As many as 600 pickleball players will compete in the 2025 Mid-Atlantic Regional Championship in Cranberry Township next month. It’s the fifth year the community has hosted the four-day tournament which attracts top players from Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia, New York and beyond.
Players will compete in a round-robin tournament format in events that include men’s and women’s singles and doubles with brackets for seniors and those under 50. This year's tournament will also include three Moneyball doubles events for players with a minimum 4.0 pickleball rating. Cash prizes will be awarded to the top four teams.
Graham Park in Cranberry Township is home to 30 outdoor courts that are used in the tournament, including 19 dedicated pickleball courts and 11 that are temporary. Almost half of the courts are lighted and there is even an inflatable dome for use in the winter.
The Cranberry Township Pickleball Association (CTPA) and the local Parks and Recreation department maintain the complex. Proceeds from the tournament go toward promoting the sport and to court expansion. The CTPA began seven years ago and has a membership of more than 1900 players.
Groups that organize major sports tournaments such as this often use banner printing to highlight their events.
The Mid-Atlantic Regional Championship will be held June 5 to 8, 2025 in Cranberry Township.
