Muddy summer in store for local princesses

The Muddy Princess Pittsburgh mud run is taking place this July in Butler.

The 5K marathon will involve running over obstacles and through the mud. This particular race is for women only, although men are allowed to be spectators. The minimum age to enter is 9 but children under the age of 13 need to be supervised by a parent. The race takes place in waves of a limited number every 15 minutes.

The fee to enter is $39. This includes a finisher's medal, sunglasses, and a paper crown. Participants will also receive a sticker, a sample bag, and a finisher's drink. VIP entry is available for $99 per person and , in addition to the above, includes a T-shirt, socks, a water bottle, a tutu, a bandana, and a pop socket.

At the end of the race, there is a rinse-off station, official photographs, and food and drink for purchase. There is no set area for spectators, but they are nonetheless welcome to attend.
