The youth of Cranberry Township can hone their basketball skills in January training and instruction sessions. Presented by the Cranberry Township Parks and Recreation Department, the Basketball Fundamental Skills Clinic will emphasize the fun in fundamental.
The practise sessions are intended to assist in skills development for athletes at a range of ability levels. Game positioning, balance, passing and ball control techniques will be taught in the hands-on active clinic.
Basketball is clearly a prominent sport for the youth of Pennsylvania and the country as a whole. According to the Sports and Fitness Industry Association, in terms of participation, basketball is the most popular team sport in the US with more than 28 million participants over age six.
Pennsylvania is no exception, as it boasts the fourth-highest number of high school athletes in the country as recorded in a 2023-24 report by the National Federation of State High School Associations. Both boys and girls sports are seeing record turnouts with basketball among the top four most popular sports.
The Cranberry Township is providing instruction for those ages 5-8 as well as a session for young players ages 9 to 15. Civic recreation departments often use local Print shops to provide printing services to create their seasonal activity guides.
Youth basketball clinics will be held January 19, 2025 in the gym at the Cranberry Township Municipal Center.
