Hoedown set to lend helping hand

For the second year in a row, the Glade Run Foundation will host its Harvest Hoedown fundraiser to benefit the traumatized children it serves.

The 2014 Harvest Hoedown Benefit is going to be held at the Blueberry Hill Park Activity Center in Franklin Park. Live music will be provided courtesy of the Allegheny Drifters and attendees will have the opportunity to participate in auctions, both silent and live, as well as raffles. For refreshments, a barbecue will be available, as will local brews.

Founded in 1854 as an orphanage, Glade Run is now an Autism Friendly Organization and a United Way partner agency.

Cranberry Township residents who wish to attend are asked to RSVP by October 6, and can register by printing a form found at the event’s website and sending it in with payment, or they can pay by credit card by calling (724) 452-4453 x 1277. Admission is $35 for adults, while children 12 and under will cost $10.

For events that require registration, working with a printing company to produce an eye-catching poster is a good advertising option. Posters provide durability, and therefore offer plenty of time for people to make up their mind to attend.

The Harvest Hoedown takes place from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm on October 10. All proceeds will be used by Glade Run Lutheran Services, the mission of which is to provide education, behavioral health, and social services throughout Western Pennsylvania.
