Festival to pick best macaroni and cheese

The Pittsburgh Mac and Cheese Festival is taking place in nearby Homestead this September.

The festival is set to feature over 30 different types of macaroni and cheese from local chefs, restaurants and food trucks. The public will have the opportunity to vote for their favourite. There will also be beer, wine and cider available for purchase. Musical entertainment will be provided by area bands.

There are two sessions: 12:30 to 3:00 PM and 5:30 to 8:30 PM. VIP ticket holders are admitted one hour earlier. VIP tickets are $55 and include 10 food tickets, two drink tickets and access to a private area.

Several vendors will be selling arts and crafts and general merchandise. Vendor spaces are still available. Fees vary depending on the type of product sold; for arts and crafts, it costs $300 for a 10 x 10-foot space, for food $300 and $150 for alcohol vendors. Sponsorships are also available.

This event will likely attract people from nearby communities such as Cranberry Township. To advertise such events, organizers often contact local flyer printing firms.

The festival will be held at Sandcastle in Homestead on September 19 from 11:30 AM to 8:30 PM. General admission tickets are $20 for admission only and $40, which includes 10 food tickets and one drink. Visit the official event website to learn more.
