Fall runs to raise funds for local charities

There are two runs coming up in early October that will get people going in Cranberry Township while they raise funds for two worthwhile local charities.

The first of the runs is the 3rd annual #GetNebby 5K run and walk. This fundraiser for the Victim Outreach Intervention Center (VOICE) will help to start off Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

The entry fee for the run is $25 and it is open to people of all ages. For more information, call Valerie Farester at 724-776-5910.

The next run take place on the same day, and is the 4th annual Pump it up for Platelets hosted by the Platelet Disorder Support Association. This year's goal is to raise $5,000. It is also a 5K run/walk, for which fees are $20 for adults and $10 for children. In addition, there will also be a toy drive for the Hematology/Oncology Treasure Chest at the Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh. To learn more about the event of the association, call 1-877-528-3258.

Flyer printing firms in Cranberry Township will often provide the advertising materials and the registration Forms for such events.

The #GetNebby 5K will take place at North Boundary Park on October 6, from 8:00 to 11:00 AM, while Pump it for Platelets will be held at Cranberry Township Park, also on October 6, from 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM.
