CTCC picks its 2016 project

The Cranberry Township Community Chest (CTCC) has recently announced its selection of the Miracle League ball field for its 2016 project.

Located at the Dick’s Sports Goods Sportsplex, the Miracle League ball field serves not just the Miracle League of Southwestern Pennsylvania’s special needs players, but also other players as well. CTCC will be renovating the field’s current playing surface, which is a specially engineered field designed for special needs players. The resurfacing project is anticipated to be finished by spring 2017.

As a secondary project and once the Miracle League renovations are done, the CTCC would build a baseball-themed playground next to the ball field. The playground would be designed to be all-inclusive and appropriate for children of all ages and abilities. Currently, Graham Park has no playgrounds so the proposed baseball themed one would be its first.

The CTCC’s 2016 project has a goal of $600,000 and will officially kickoff its fundraising at the July 9-11 Cranberry Township Community Days event. The organization anticipates raising $100,000 at that event. In addition it has already received $20,000 from the Seneca Valley High School Raiderthon, and Fun Fore All has agreed that from July 9 to August 31, for each miniature golf round played it will donate $1.

CTCC has, since its inception in 2010, selected a specific community project for which to raise funds each year and a variety of printing services are available to help them.
