A Christmas shopping experience highlighting small businesses will take place in Cranberry Township in early December.
The Holiday Village Market is an opportunity for local businesses to come together and have their products sold to a larger audience, as well as allowing them to find new customers. Non-profits also get to participate, letting attendees donate to a good cause for the holidays. Flyer printing is often used to promote community-oriented events like this.
In addition to gift vendors, food trucks, and beverage stations will be available. Some of the drinks will contain alcohol. Kids can keep busy with a variety of activities set up just for them. An area will also be open for everyone to drop off their letters to Santa Claus.
A gingerbread contest will take place as well. Participants will have the choice to use a kit or bake their house from scratch. All materials will need to be edible. Use of ingredients like fondant or isomalt is approved, and even encouraged. The finished products will have to be at the schoolhouse building by 4:30 pm on the date of December 4. Voting will follow, from 5:00 pm to 7:30 pm. Those interested can register online, and the results will be read on the following day at 7:45 pm. There will be first, second, and third place winners.
The market will take place from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on December 4. It will be located at the Cranberry Township Municipal Center, and is free to attend.
