Cranberry Township hosts wedding event

The legalization of same-sex marriage in the United States has provided a boost to the wedding industry. An exhibition in the Pittsburgh area this summer looks to highlight the new opportunities for wedding planners, caterers, photographers, and all of the other professionals involved in making sure a couple's special day goes off without a hitch.

The event is called the Pittsburgh LGBT Wedding Expo, and takes place at the Pittsburgh Marriott, which is actually located in Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania. The event will feature LGBTQ-friendly wedding businesses from across the state, which could include services as diverse as florists, printing services and DJs.

Planning a wedding is a major undertaking for all couples, with decisions from the Letterheads on the Invitations to the wedding party's outfits all contributing to the final experience. For same-sex or other LGBTQ couples, hiring professionals who are specialists dealing with them and capable of dealing with any special requirements is essential.

The expo is hosted by Rainbow Wedding Network, which has been holding similar events across the United States since 2000. The Network's stated mission is:

"To serve as a bridge for LGBTQ couples and our allies to access the resources needed to successfully plan Our Dream Weddings and our committed lives together, free from discrimination."

This is the group’s first stop in Pittsburgh, and it is scheduled for August 5.
