Cranberry Township hosts a soup cookoff

Recon Brewing is hosting its second annual Soup-er Bowl Sunday Cook-Off this February in Cranberry Township.

The event will allow contenders to showcase their expertise in crafting the finest soups. Participants must have their soup ready before arriving at the venue. There will be no restrictions on the type of soup contestants can present, but a detailed record of ingredients is required for any potential allergy concerns, particularly for recipes involving peanut oil or peanuts. Competitors must also bring their equipment for warming the soup, while Recon Brewing will supply sampling spoons, cups, and napkins.

The serving schedule begins at 1:00 pm and continues until 4:00 pm, with set-up commencing at noon. Individuals passionate about soup can become event judges by contributing a $20 donation, which will grant them the opportunity to sample soups from each participant, receive 25 vote tickets, and enjoy a bowl of their preferred soup submission. An additional donation of $5 will provide an additional serving of soup or 10 supplementary votes.

All proceeds from entrance fees and ticket sales will be directed to the winner's chosen community sports team. It is preferred that cash donations are made on the event day. Banner printing can be a great way to label participant areas at events such as this one.

As the name suggests, it takes place on the same day as Super Bowl LVIII, which is Sunday, February 11 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. The location will be 301 Tillary Lane Suite A, Cranberry Township.
