It may not be a new year on Earth, but it certainly is on Mars, and Butler County is not letting the occasion pass unnoticed.
Residents of the town of Mars, along with neighbors from Cranberry Township, will gather together to wish the fourth planet from the sun a happy new year.
Kicking off the festivities, Chairman Mike Harvey from WTAE will highlight science, engineering, math, arts, and technology as exploration begins.
Following the educational sessions, an adult adventure begins with the BrewFest. Home brewers will be on-hand representing the Butler Area Society of Home-Brewers. Tickets to the event include unlimited brewery samples, as well as tastings from wineries and distilleries.
Often, participants presenting the samples and tastings have booths. Banner printing creates signage for the vendors and exhibitors that can be hung at the top of the booth or used as a backdrop. Local Print shops are available to handle these types of requests.
Some of the regional breweries expected at the event include Recon, Cellar Brew Works, Stick City, Erie Brewing, Koehler, Leaning Cask, Dented Keg, and Straub.
Local distilleries and wineries include D & R Distillery, Libations and Bear Creek Wines and Chicken Hill Distillery. Arsenal Cidery from Lawrenceville will also be in attendance.
The Mars New Year event will take place June 22 at the Downtown Mars Borough from 6:00 to 9:00 pm. Tickets start at $25 purchased online in advance or $35 at the door.
