Annual tournament helps local charities

The 2nd annual HYPE Tossin' for Good cornhole tournament is taking place this month in nearby Mars. The event is a presentation of HYPE (Helping Young Professionals Excel) from the Pittsburgh North Regional Chamber of Commerce.

Teams of two will compete in round-robin type competition. The 1st and 2nd place teams will choose the charities they will help. In addition, one non-profit organization will be chosen by Pittsburgh North Regional Chamber members.

The competition fee is $50 per team and each member must register separately. The fee includes a T-shirt, two beer tickets, and unlimited food and non-alcoholic drinks. The 1st place team will receive a prize basket worth over $1,000, while the second-place team will win a basket worth $500. The ticket price for spectators is $20 each and includes two beer tickets and unlimited food and drink. Game play will begin at 2:00 PM.

HYPE is a PNRC division that provides networking and mentorship for business leaders under the age of 40. It also raises funds for several worthwhile causes.

It is likely that people from all over the area, including Cranberry Township, will want to participate in this event. To spread the word, local printing services companies often provide Flyers.

The cornhole tournament will be held at Adams Township Community Park on August 24 from 1:00 to 7:00 PM. Call 724-934-9700 x18 for more information.
