Three activities planned for seniors in Media
Rose Tree Place, a retirement community located in Media, will be hosting a trio of special events this month.
Poster printing can be used throughout the community to inform residents of such planned activities.
The first will be a lively educational discussion on the evolution and history of baseball. The talk will focus on the 1960s when there was an expansion of Major league Baseball to include eight new teams and eight more scheduled games. Roger Maris and Mickey Mantle each accomplished 61 home runs in 1961. This activity will take place at 2:00 pm next Wednesday, January 20.
The next day will see a trip to the Strasburg Railroad Museum. The continuously operating railroad is the oldest such railroad in the Western Hemisphere, offering authentic steam train rides straight through the heart of world-famous Pennsylvania Dutch country. Authentic stream train rides are offered by the Railroad in Pennsylvania Dutch country. The trip includes lunch, for which attendees are responsible for the cost. The trip leaves the community at 10:30 am.
The last event is a trip to Harrah’s Philadelphia. This is expected to a fun-filled afternoon regardless of the outcome. Participants are responsible for costs at Harrah’s. This event will take place beginning at 1:00 pm on Thursday, January 28.
