The 34th annual Media Food and Arts Festival is set to take place in just a few days.
The festival is expected to feature 75 arts and crafts vendors, 40 food sellers, and a children's play area.
One event taking place in conjunction with the festival is the 27th annual Mad Poets Poetry Festival hosted by the Mad Poets Society and the Media Recreation Commission. More than 40 poets, both local and national, will be giving five-minute readings, some of which are set to music. This is to be followed by a reception at which light refreshment will be served.
Those who plan to attend the poetry festival are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item for City Team Ministries. The organization will also be selling cups of chili for $1.
Participating poets are encouraged to send organizers a poem to be printed in an anthology that will be sold at the festival. It's likely that Media printing companies will be helping to create these Books.
The Media Food and Arts Festival is being held downtown on October 5 from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm, and the rain date is October 12. The Mad Poets Poetry Festival will take place at the Mansion Parlor in Media Borough Hall from 12:00 pm - 5:00 pm. Admission is free of charge for both.
