The popular Dining Under the Stars event recently kicked off in Media.
From May through September, every Wednesday evening, State Street is closed to motor vehicles from Jackson to Orange so that guests can dine al fresco throughout the summer months. The idea is to bring to Media the same environments of the piazzas of Venice and Rome, and the open-air cafes on the Avenue de Champs Elyseé in Paris.
Along with dining, there will be live music outdoors, and boutiques will be open so that people can shop before or after their meals.
Among the participating restaurants are the farm-to-table eatery Lotus, Fellini Café Trattoria, Azie Asian Fusion, and Iron Hill Brewery. Diners need to check each restaurant for their reservation policy as some are weeks in advance for outdoor seating while other do not take reservations. Printing services can be used by such restaurants to provide more details about reservation policies, as well as Menus and specials during the summer season.
Scooters or bicycles are not allowed on State Street during Dining Under the Stars and there may be restrictions on dogs and other animals, with the exception of service dogs.
Dining Under the Stars runs until September 25 and from 6:00 to 11:00 pm weekly. This is the 12th season of this popular event.
