The Media Theatre received 14 awards and some of the awards that were given out include Best Musical, Best Choreography, and Best Musical Direction. The majority of the awards that were given to the theater were for its most popular play, Side Show. For the third consecutive year, The Media Theatre was the one that has received the most recognition out of all Philadelphia theaters. All of the awards given are a result of public voting in the Broadway World Awards.
The artistic director for the Media Music Theatre Company at The Media Theatre, Jesse Cline, was excited about the awards both he and the theater received. He said:
"These honors are a testament to the great work being done here on State Street in Media. We are happy to be a large part of the Philadelphia theatre community. We will continue to produce both classic and newer works which entertain and inform."
These 14 awards now bring the total amount of The Media Theatre’s awards to 86.
