This marks the largest number of such recipients. Previously, 10 had been awarded grants for 2017 and 2018 and then again for 2018 and 2019.

Director of Scholar Development and Fellowships Advising, Barbara Gorka, said that this record-breaking cohort of Fulbright scholars is evidence of the evolution of the university’s programs. She added that as students see an increase in the number of their peers being selected for this honor, they become inspired to apply. A complete recipe for success, she said is made possible by the work ethic and ingenuity of the students coupled with the mentorship and quality of teaching by the faculty.

The Fulbright United States Program is funded by an appropriation from Congress and is the largest such exchange program in the country. The program makes it possible for recent graduates and students to travel around the world to teach English, pursue graduate studies, or conduct creative or research projects. Students are selected for the program based on their leadership potential and academic merit.
