Media restaurant creates partnership to help the hungry

As Thanksgiving approaches, the Iron Hill Brewery and Restaurant in Media is getting into the spirit of giving.

The eatery is partnering with No Kid Hungry in its fight to eliminate hunger in children. This campaign extends across the United States with the goal to end childhood hunger.

Iron Hill is selling a traditional meal for Thanksgiving for $50 that can be heated up at home. The meal serves four people and includes an oven roasted turkey, Yukon smashed potatoes, sage and sausage stuffing, and green beans with grilled onions and bacon. Pies can also be purchased for a reduced price of $5.

For every meal the Brewery sells, it will donate $2 to No Kid Hungry to ensure that all children receive the daily nutritious food they need. Such charitable efforts are often promoted throughout a community with poster printing.

Kim Boerema, CEO of Iron Hill, said that the company is passionate about ending hunger, especially among children. Boerema added that when it was learned that just one dollar can provide up to 10 meals for children, this became an ideal opportunity for the restaurant.

This special meal and donation are being offered through Wednesday, November 25 with the price on pies good for orders until Wednesday, November 18. Those looking to get a meal need to order before Saturday, November 21.
