Library to host Science of Sports summer classes

The Media-Upper Providence Library will be hosting two days of classes this July that will focus on the science behind a range of sports.

The classes will be taught by experts from the Franklin Institute in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and the classes will involve engaging in activities such as bouncing balls and recreating recipes for sports drinks.

There are two levels of classes. The first level is for students who will be entering second grade or third grade in the fall. The second level is for students who will be entering the fourth grade, the fifth grade, or the sixth grade. Those who would like for their children to attend the classes should be aware that substances such as lemon juice, coconut water, honey, and lime juice will be used.

Classes will be taking place on July 13 and July 14 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, and from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm, at the Media-Upper Providence Library on 1 East Front Street in Media, Pennsylvania. Each class will accept around 16 students. Registration is filled on a first come, first served basis and is available online through the GSK Science in the Summer website.
