St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Media will be holding its Greek festival, called ‘A Taste of Greece’, later this month. This is the 39th year in which the church has held this festival.
There will be many activities at the festival, including dancing, live music, and vendors. Authentic Greek food will be served and people can eat at the church or dine outdoors. Food and pastries will also be available for take-out. Among the menu items are various Greek specialties such as humus, Greek salad, and dolmathakia (stuffed vine leaves), as well as souvlaki and chicken Riganati.
Sponsors of the festival include Wyndham Garden & BW Bistro, Concordville Inn Restaurant, Best Western Plus, and Station 52 Sports Bar and Grill. The festival is also a fundraiser for the church with a Festival Book that offers information about the various events, articles, coupons, and photographs.
Several types of ads can be purchased for the book and these benefit both the business purchasing the ad and the church as well. Organizers of this sort of event often use Print shops for festival Books such as this one.
The festival will be taking place from September 27 through 30. Its hours are Thursday from 5:00 to 9:00 pm, Friday and Saturday from 11:00 am to 10:00 pm, and Sunday from noon until 8:00 pm.
