Fundraising run set to work up a sweater

The Ugly Sweater Run Philadelphia is being held this December, providing a fundraising event to benefit Save the Children.

The run takes place the day after National Ugly Sweater Day, in which everyone is asked to donate at least $5 or more to Save the Children while sporting their least attractive sweater.

The 5K run is taking place in several cities in the United States. Runners will be given free hot chocolate and water from aid stations along the way. Finishers can enjoy more hot chocolate, a beer, or cider, and they will also be given a winter knit hat.

The race will attract runners from all over the area, including nearby Media. Local Print companies have probably helped to provide the printed material that runners will receive in their packages.

Fees are $35 per person or $40 on the day of the race, although children under five years of age are free. For a team of four or more people, fees are $30 or $35 on the day. Runners will also compete for prizes in categories such as best mustache, best sweater, and worst sweater.

The Ugly Sweater Run Philadelphia is taking place on December 13 from 6:00 am - 8:00 am in Fairmount Park. To learn more and get the most up-to-date information about this fundraising event, visit the official Ugly Sweater website.
