The first two walk-in clinics will be held at the Pilgrim Gardens in Drexel Hill and at the YMCA in Haverford on October 13 and October 20, respectively. The third free session will be a drive-in clinic held at the Tinicum Fire Station on November 3. All will be taking place from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm and will be hosted by the Department of Intercommunity Health Coordination, a resource center in Media, Pennsylvania.
Delaware County Councilman Dave White said about the flu and prevention measures:
“As we say every year, the best way to prevent getting the flu, or spreading it to your co-workers and family members, is to get immunized. You can see from all of the Signs at local pharmacies and clinics that flu vaccinations are now available. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends people get the flu vaccination in October.”
Along with these clinics, senior centers throughout the region will also be giving flu shots.
