Covanta, a waste company in New Jersey that seeks to provide sustainable waste disposal and energy solutions, recently announced they have signed an agreement with the DCSWA (Delaware County Solid Waste Authority) in Media, Pennsylvania.
The 5-year agreement will help Delaware County with sustainable waste disposal by utilizing the Covanta facility in Chester, Pennsylvania. Covanta has been working with the Delaware County Solid Waste Authority for the past 25 years and has managed to accomplish feats such as generating 15 million megawatt hours of electricity and saving more than 200 acres from becoming landfills. This agreement will continue to make a difference in Delaware County by converting waste into energy and recycling metals.
The general manager and vice president for Covanta in the mid-Atlantic region, Joey Neuhoff, said this about the agreement:
"The DCSWA has developed an award-winning waste management system that includes EfW for any residual waste that remains after recycling. We are proud of our contributions to provide safe, reliable waste disposal and a source of clean energy and look forward to serving the community for many years to come."
