Residents of Bala Cynwyd recently had a chance to learn a bit more about the area’s history while helping to support local crafters and other retailers.
The Fall Festival featured something for everyone. There was live music, food by JPM Catering, and 40 different vendors with products to browse through.
Along with the expected festival offerings, there was something extra – a new installation that celebrates the location’s link the railroad was unveiled to the crowd, as was a brand new piece of art in the park. This public installation took its inspiration from the cultural history of the surrounding area.
Two experts in railway history were on hand to talk with those who came out and answer any questions they may have had.
The sponsors for the event were Cynwyd Station Café and Tea Room and the Friends of Cynmyd Station Park. It was intended to be a multi-functional festival that offered something for all and that let people know that this is a destination at which they can come together and celebrate everything that makes the local community special. A printer can design and produce custom Drinkware and other items that can be used at the event or sold as souvenirs of the day.
This is just one event among many that bring the history of Bala Cynwyd to the forefront. Anyone who would like to find out more is invited to visit LowerMerionHistory.org.
