As summer transitions to fall, a Bala Cynwyd historic site will be changing to its autumn dress, and the public is invited to be part of an event that will showcase this beauty.
In mid-September, Laurel Hill West Cemetery will open its gates to welcome the registrants for the ‘Autumn Abundance in Nature’s Sanctuary’ garden tour. Tickets for the activity can be purchased in advance; the event will be guided by a horticultural expert.
The walk will visit the venue’s Nature’s Sanctuary, and the guide will discuss the species of flora, fauna and fungi that call the venue home. The session will run for an hour and a half, and all ages will be able to take part. General admission passes are $20.00, and there are discounts available for seniors, students, youth and Friends of Laurel Hill Members. As they may sell out in advance, those interested may want to reserve theirs early.
Historic cemeteries and other sites often also serve as arboretums and public gardens, offering refuge for wildlife and preserving plant species. Guides that show the plants and animals that may be seen can be prepared for a venue by a brochure printing company.
The special walk on 19th September will be at Laurel Hill West Cemetery, located at 225 Belmont Avenue in Bala Cynwyd. The walk will depart from its meet up point at 10:00 am.
