Philadelphia is celebrating Archives Month, and to mark the occasion, a local museum that focuses on the history of medicine will be hosting a special pop-up exhibit.
Herbal medicine has been used for thousands of years, and is still in use by many today. The Historical Medical Library of The College of Physicians of Philadelphia has created an event that will show how two plants were used throughout the centuries as both a treatment and a poison, and it will be hosted in an open house style.
The doors of the Bala Cynwyd area event will open to the guests at 5:30 pm, and they will remain open until 7:00 pm. The exhibit will include a wide assortment of visual materials, including some illustrations of the herbs that will be the focus of the evening. Light refreshments will be offered to the group.
The organizers of the function noted that the Mutter Museum will be closed for the event. A banner printing company can supply reusable pop-up Banners and other reusable promotional materials for this sort of public occasion, which can make them a choice that is both environmentally sound and budget friendly.
The College of Physicians of Philadelphia, which can be found at 19 South 22nd Street in Philadelphia, is set to offer this exploration of how herbs have been used as both a panacea and poison throughout human history on October 7. The event is free to attend.
