Salem event seeks to help at-risk youth

Residents of Salem have an upcoming opportunity to engage with the community in a fun way, while also supporting at-risk youth.

Punx in the Park is an annual event that seeks to raise funds, increase awareness, and provide access to community organizations, and simply give youth a safe, fun place to go where they can feel supported for a day. This year’s event has moved to a new location and is looking to be larger than previous years.

Events such as this with a focus on community resources often see those represented making use of brochure printing. Brochures can be an easy and effective way to provide potential service users with valuable information on what help or services an organization can provide.

The event will have a variety of activities and things to explore for all ages throughout the day. Some of the highlights include live musical performances, food and merchandise vendors, and a “Build-a-Punk Hair Station”. Young people ages 11 to 18 are able to register at the event for a wristband and will have access to free meals from the food vendors on site and a free clothing closet.

The day will be taking place next Saturday, September 5 at Riverfront Park, located at 200 Water St NE, Salem. The event will begin at 11:00 am and conclude at 6:00 pm. There is no charge for admission to the event and all are welcome to attend.
