Salem celebration to honor art in multiple forms

The Salem Art Fair and Festival is heading into its 74th year.

Hosted by the Salem Art Association (SAA), the multi-day experience gives local artists, performers, restaurants, and vendors the chance to showcase their specialty to the attendees.

Past attending entertainment has included cloggers, karate demonstrations, musicians, and dance groups. Although the full line-up for this year’s event is not available at the time of writing, a few confirmed performers include The Fabba Show, Paul Prince, Children’s Education Theater, Blackbird, and Summer Groove Party Band, along with a children’s talent competition. Food and beverages will be sold throughout the celebration.

The Children’s Parade gives kids a chance to dress up and walk through the venue with a band and some clowns. Participating gives kids free access to the festival. It will start off at 9:30am on the Friday. In addition, Mountain West Investment Corp has made all activities for children free for the 2023 edition.

Bush’s Pasture Park is the festival’s venue, and tickets can be found through the festival website. Free passes are granted to SAA members, those on SNAP or OHP, and children 12 or younger. Single-day tickets are $5 for teens, $8 for vets and seniors, and $10 for adults. Passes that cover the entire event are $10, $15, and $20 for the same groups. Sales begin June 1st. Flyer printing is often performed when looking to advertise a festival like this.

The Salem Art Fair and Festival will be held on July 21st and 22nd from 10:00am to 9:00pm, and on July from 10:00am to 5:00pm. A concert is scheduled for July 20th from 5:00pm to 7:00pm as well.
