Salem will once again host the Oregon State Fair at the Cascade Hall in June.
The fair features crafts, a carnival, cultural and agricultural showcases, amusement park rides, carnivals, and even competitions, among other activities.
The week-and-a-half-long event offers fresh hot carnival food from local vendors, activities for all ages, art exhibits, and live music. It officially has an Oregon Heritage Tradition designation, which means the fair holds cultural value for people living in Oregon, adding to the state’s identity and liveability, according to the State of Oregon.
The Salem fair is located in the heart of the Willamette Valley, known for its mild-to-fair weather, wilderness, and wine vineyards.
Artists performing at the Oregon State Fair include The All-American Rejects, Russell Dickerson with Niko Moon, Sean Paul, Jason Bnham’s Led Zeppelin Evening, Wynonna Judd, Maverick City Music, Cheap Trick, The String Cheese Incident, Dylan Scott, Banda Los Sebastianes, and The Beach Boys.
Other activities at the fair include a fair lift, a petting zoo with barnyard races, family farm crafts, hypnotist Wayne Lee, and a magic show. Fairs like this may choose to use poster printing to get the word out about vendors, bands, and rides.
The Oregon State Fair is happening from Friday, August 22 to Monday, September 1 at Cascade Hall at 2330 17th Street NE in Salem.
