Berry lovers savor festivals return
The fifth annual Lifewise Berry Festival will soon allow Portland residents to eat the freshest berries of the season.
Attendees can get their fill of blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, strawberries, marionberries, and ollalieberries. Vendors will also be selling sweet treats like ice cream and pie. Along with sampling and purchasing food, individuals can check out information booths and cooking demonstrations.
The ‘Blueberry Stage’ will have live entertainment like musical performances. There will also be a Blackberry Pie Contest for both novice and experienced chefs. Kids may want to check out the children’s area, where there will be crafts and other activities. Finally, the 'Healthy Berry Pavilion' will have professionals offering tips on wellbeing, such as informing individuals about the health benefits of berries.
Another highlight is the Gala Berry Dinner, where chef Jim Dodge will prepare a dinner with berries as the star. While the festival is free, tickets cost $95 for the dinner, which will be held at the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry on July 18th.
The Berry Festival takes place on July 17th from noon until 6:00pm, and July 18th from 11:00am until 5:00pm.
The event will be held at The Ecotrust Event Space, located at Northwest 10th Avenue and Northwest Johnson Street. No doubt a banner printing service was used to make large signs to welcome visitors to the event. For more information, call 503-505-3876.
